We invite you to spend a few hours going native introducing you to the inner sanctums of the real heart of the Basque, their food and their kitchens. We unlock a door that for so many generations was only the preserve of men and experience first hand the joys of cooking in a Gastronomic Society. Our local food experts will take you to the markets which heave with ripe, fresh vegetables, juicy fruit and an array of meat and freshly caught fish. You will chat to local traders choosing each ingredient for your cooking adventure with their input and knowledge.

You will trawl through the maze of wonderful gourmet shops on offer tasting as you go. Having shopped with great care and attention you will enter that ‘holy grail’ a truly unique San Sebastian phenomenon, deep in the old town. Here you will share an aperitif with one of our Basque chefs who will give you further insight into the Basque food movement. Pintxo Workshop San Sebastian

Make pintxos like a local in our NEW pintxo workshop. Meet your guide in San Sebastian and walk over to the local market to meet the farmers, the butchers and the fish mongers we visit everyday. Take your time, have a coffee, rub elbows with the locals in el mercado. After picking up some choice groceries we are off to the San Sebastian Food kitchen for a glass of wine and a cooking demonstration from one of our expert chefs. Next, roll up your sleeves and get to work! With guided instruction and help, our culinary team will present all the ingredients and equipment needed for you to recreate the recipes or do a little experimentation on your own—creativity is encouraged. With flowing wine pairings and a minimum of six pintxos to make and eat, this class offers something delicious for everyone.
